Five sleeps into my stay and it is becoming clear that I packed at least three times as much as I needed to. I should have left a bunch of empty space for shopping in Vancouver on the way home - assuming that we will manage to sort some Vancouver time on the way through.
I have also taken to sorting all my meds for the day into a seperate container each morning so I can easy check I am taking them all. The app I had got for tracking meds went spaztastic about changing time zones, as was more effort to fix than it was worth.
The trip is mostly going okay. Tuesday I walked into town to get away from people but stupidly accepted a ride home when family went past. Wednesday - after chatting to a second cousin once removed, Holly, (I tracked how I was related to her grandmother okay, but failed to work out exactly which of my second cousins had made her) and her fireman boyfriend for a bit - dad and I went into town to rescue Evelyn from a similar walk to the one I did the day before. This led to walking into all the museum gift shops we could find to hunt for postcards.
I have yet to find any with moose on them, in part as moose are not really a Vancouver Island thing.
In sadder news, Evelyn, who has been sick the whole trip, received news his cat, James, had died. It seems being left without a human for entertainment had led the thing to risky behaviours.
So glad the I got this iPad, as this thing would be absolutely impossible without it. Though writing this is pretty annoying even with it. Screens as keyboards - they will never be ideal. Unless things much improve tech wise.
Also, in the northern winter, I managed to get a bit sunburnt yesterday.
Because I am champion.
